End of September in the Flowerbeds
The garden is still full of flowers at the end of September. The first fall frost is still some weeks away and we spent some of our gardening time harvesting vegetables and herbs. Deadheading and weeding has been a daily routine. We have started to transplant perennials. Some need better locations, many were self seeded and will fit in other spaces for the next season. A few were raised from seed and are now ready for a new home. Some perennials and some shrubs spread by rhizomes and need to be cut back or removed. We try to spend about 2 hours in the garden on most days to keep up to the fall chores, but we also stop to enjoy flowers in bloom, a few of which are shared here.
