In Containers, Mid-August
By mid-August, all of the flower beds are in various stages and we can enjoy those in bloom, but there is also lots of deadheading and weeding. We collect some of the seed as we deadhead. A few varieties can be a bit invasive, so we try to get the heads off before seed is dispersed. We are selective about what goes in the compost too because some seed will survive the decomposition processes. in the compost bin. Most of the watering is on an irrigation system, but pots need regular attention. Some photos of featured plants in pots and planters is shared here.
